Our Story
Ciao and welcome! We are La Bella di Casa, the only company in Lincoln that makes and sells our own authentic Italian Gelato.
Our business is made up of two families, the Italian Catalano’s and the English Morris’s and we were brought together when our two eldest children became good friends during their first year at primary school. After a few revelations such as said bambinos being born days apart in the same hospital 75 miles from Lincoln both to mum’s called Isabel M/Isabelle M we bonded over prosecco and pizza and voila an ice cream business was born!
There’s lots we could tell you but we’ll keep to the important points. So we must tell you about Antonio. Antonio, from our Italian family, (if you hadn’t guessed) is a third generation Gelato chef, he’s the brains behind our recipes and the science behind the product.
Antonio is one of only a few Italian gelato chefs in the UK; his recipes are used throughout the country, even in London parlours and his expertise is highly sort after. Because of this we keep him normally keep him locked in the kitchen, but you might see him in our shop from time to time and we don’t need to describe him to you because you’ll just know!
So, that’s us in a nut shell. We’re proud of our small business from the product we sell to the service we provide. The gelato we make is truly authentic, the main ingredients are imported from Italy and are high quality and real!
By real, we mean there’s no artificial flavouring or additives; for example the Pistachio we use is 100% Pistachio paste - there’s nothing else in the tin! The last thing to say is please pop by, even if you don’t fancy a gelato or coffee that day, we’re always happy to say hello or ciao depending on which family member you get!
